Are you passionate about winemaking and eager to immerse yourself in the world of winemaking? Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards is seeking dynamic a Harvest Enologist to join us for the upcoming harvest season. This position will support winemaking and lab staff during harvest and tasting season by organizing tastings and recording tasting results, coordinating, and recording results from experiments, and assisting with lab work.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Develop the v24 Harvest Experiment word document before, during, and after harvest. The results will be presented to the winemaking team at the end of the harvest
season.
•  Research new protocols, products, or procedures in winemaking to see how it would positively affect Sonoma-Cutrer wine quality, productivity, and cost.
•  Perform and record daily Brix and temp readings and alert winemaking staff if there are concerning ferments that need quick rectification.
•  Assist lab with grape sampling, lab analysis, or any other functions as necessary.
•  Review press data and look for efficiencies.
•  Experiment and offer ideas to be implemented at the winery to improve our water, electricity, and waste reduction.
•  Organize monthly wine lot tastings, record tasting results, and perform fining and addition trials.
•  Maintain harvest summaries of tons picked per day, lots that underwent various treatments, and tracking analysis and/or sensory findings.

What you will need:
•  Three harvest experiments and BS in winemaking or related field OR five harvest experience in the cellar and lab.
•  Lab experience; comfortable working with lab machinery and performing bottling line quality control.
•  Computer skills; strong understanding of spreadsheets and general knowledge of writing documents.
•  Strong Organizational skills to track experiments and trials.
