Winery Hospitality Manager

Job Description:

The Hospitality Manager is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in the winery tasting room. This individual is responsible for managing the daily operations of the tasting room and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The Hospitality Manager will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and motivating the tasting room staff. This individual will ensure the tasting room and inventory areas are clean, organized and stocked at all times, will assist with the management of inventory and developing and monitoring tasting room policies and procedures. The manager must have the ability to develop relationships with customers and wine club members and will be knowledgeable about the winery’s wines, history, and winemaking process.

Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the wine tasting room, including opening, and closing procedures, scheduling, inventory management, and staff supervision.
Develop and monitor tasting room policies and procedures.
Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of tasting room staff; actively work to promote and recognize performance. Assign duties and monitor quality of work; assure staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
Train, motivate, and mentor tasting room staff, ensuring they provide exceptional customer service, sales techniques and wine club training and possess in-depth knowledge of our wines and winemaking processes.
Create and maintain a professional and welcoming environment for customers and wine club members.
Maintain accurate records of daily sales, customer information, and inventory levels, utilizing a point-of-sale (POS) system and other tracking tools.
Prepares accurate and timely reports as required.
Assist in setting and achieving annual goals for tasting rooms sales and club sign ups by month.
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all wines, menu items, pricing and wine club details.
Monitors par levels for supplies and equipment; monitors and maintains proper inventory levels; create purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
Work with the Sales Manager to implement effective sales strategies, promotions, and events to increase tasting room traffic, wine club memberships, and overall sales.
Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
Create and execute engaging, educational, and memorable positive experiences for guests.
Effectively suggest and sell wine & club memberships to customers.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to wine sales, responsible alcohol service, and health and safety standards.
