Job Description: The Floor Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Tasting Hall, aiding in the development of the team and fostering an environment that promotes sales while creating a memorable experience for every guest. The role embraces but is not limited to maintaining high standards of hospitality for guests and members, a smooth and seamless guest experience and leading on-going training and development of the team. This role reports to the Tasting Hall Manager and collaborates with all departments including winemaking, membership and culinary.

Essential Functions:
•  Assist Tasting Hall Manager in all department operations including conversions and sales goals, promotions, customer service, staff management, inventory accuracy and profitability
•  Oversee day-to-day operations including scheduling of Tasting Hall personnel, cover counts, table turn times and floor plans
•  Closely monitor the guest experience adjusting and assisting whenever necessary while identifying opportunities to grown revenue and bottom-line profitability
•  Manage the POS system and procedures to ensure guest experience is efficient and accurate
•  Lead educational opportunities for staff to ensure wine, sales and industry knowledge is current and evolving; ensure team conducts themselves as brand ambassadors demonstrating positive characteristics of exceptional guest service and focused sales behavior
•  Enhance and maintain an inspired service culture amongst all hospitality team members
•  Constantly strive to introduce creative, new enhancements to the sequence of service and operational amenities
•  Integrate with team to ensure proper delivery of wine and food items, obtaining feedback as to satisfaction and details to improve upon
•  Ensure all public facing areas are clean, organized and in good working order; free from any hazards
•  Be actively involved in the sales and marketing of wines and memberships to Tasting Hall guests, members and event attendees
•  Partner with the Winemaker and Executive Chef to schedule staff training when new wines and/or menus launch
•  Oversees accurate inventory levels in the Tasting Hall including correct vintages and varietals available for sale
•  Monitor and complete daily procedures including opening/closing duties and sales reports in partnership with Tasting Hall Manager
•  Facilitate and lead daily lineup to set the tone, pace and expectations for the team in Tasting Hall Manager’s absence
•  Host VIP and trade guests
•  Collaborates and supports DTC/Membership and the Events departments as needed
•  Create and ensure a safe environment for staff and guests

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
•  2+ years of experience in sales management and customer engagement, preferably in a luxury wine or other hospitality setting
•  Wine credentials of a level 2 WSET at a minimum; CSW or advanced Sommelier certificate strongly preferred
•  Must be available to work weekends including occasional nights and holidays
•  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with good attention to detail
•  A comprehensive understanding of hospitality operations and wine service
•  Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm, professionalism and a sense of urgency while remaining calm under pressure
•  Strong written and verbal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
•  Experience building effective relationships and collaboration across departments to achieve joint goals
•  Possesses strong customer service expertise, tact and diplomacy
•  Technologically savvy with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and POS/CRM software programs required; experience with Wine Direct and TOCK highly desirable
•  Knowledge of merchandising wine and non-wine items is preferred
•  Passion for our product and knowledge of hospitality operations and wine service
•  Certification in California Food Handlers Training required or within 30 days of employment
•  Certification in California RBS Training required or within 30 days of employment
•  Must be at least 21 years of age or older

Physical Requirements:
•  Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
•  Able and willing to work weekends and longer than normal business hours
•  Must be able to lift 40 lbs
