We’re Seeking a highly motivated, Dynamic Director of Events with a strong background in event management. The ideal candidate will be driven by sales growth and revenue targets, with a proven ability to develop effective sales strategies while maintaining a passion for customer engagement and service excellence.

Summary and Essential Duties:
The Director of Events plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth across business development and direct-to-consumer sales channels by providing strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations of sales and event management. This leadership position entails leading and directing revenue-generating initiatives within the Events Department to achieve and exceed financial targets. Key responsibilities encompass strategic planning, leadership, financial analysis, and team development event management. This position requires close collaboration with the president, co-directors, and vice president of business development to execute competitive market strategies. Strong leadership skills, a proactive revenue generation approach, and effective cross-department collaboration are vital aspects of this role.
1. Lead the development and execution of strategic plans to drive revenue growth in the events department. Use market insights and customer data to identify revenue opportunities and implement sales and marketing initiatives to expand market reach and enhance client engagement, resulting in measurable revenue uplift and sustained business growth.
2. Provide daily operational oversight of sales and event management activities to ensure efficient and effective execution of events.
3. Lead and mentor the events team to ensure high performance, motivation, and professional development.
4. Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to enhance revenue-generating opportunities.
5. Monitor financial performance and budget adherence, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving measures.
Job Duties
a. Strategically develops and implements a pipeline of new and recurring event businesses, both corporate and social, working closely with the culinary team to design dynamic, competitively priced menus and cultivate relationships with external vendors.
b. Exemplifies excellent customer service that always exceeds guest expectations, directly managing a diverse team to achieve sales and hospitality success according to pre-set metrics and goals.
c. Coordinates and supports the Wine Club team in executing events, fostering idea sharing, and enhancing the Club Member experience, while engaging in sales strategies across departments, including Business Development and National Sales.
d. Actively seeks out enhanced processes and systems to optimize efficiency and drive revenue, fostering the professional development and ongoing learning of the events team.
e. Works collaboratively with the marketing team to develop and propose new and innovative direct-to-consumer (DTC) and business events, aiming to maximize visibility and revenue potential. Implements enticing food, beverage, and wine programming to attract new business and drive growth.
f. Maintains open communication with leaders of other departments to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of goals, strategies, and events, including collaboration with Facilities, Production, Culinary, Marketing, Wine Club, and the Tasting Room Team.
g. Establishes policies and procedures to optimize the guest experience and drive revenue for the events team, ensuring adherence to budgetary targets through accurate financial statements and forecasts.
h. Optimize event operations and processes, establishing efficient systems to boost revenue by tailoring experiences and maximizing efficiency and profitability.
i. Communicates with the tasting room or other departments to secure support for specific events, ensuring appropriate staffing levels without exceeding necessary manpower.
j. Ensures compliance with OLCC and food handling regulations, staying current with federal and state laws, and implementing best practices.
k. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Demonstrated success in driving significant top-line sales growth and surpassing revenue targets in senior sales or executive capacities. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve strategic objectives. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker adept at leveraging market insights to develop actionable sales strategies.
Track record of managing key client relationships and executing complex deal negotiations.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency in software platform such as Tripleseat, WineDirect, Tock.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent background. Five to seven years of progressive experience in business development and leadership within the industry.
Proven track record of being sales-driven, achieving sales targets, and delivering consistent sales growth and revenue increases. Proficiency in customer engagement, catering, event diagrams, and POS software. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication and management skills.
