Sales Manager - Maryland, DC, Delaware

Job Description:

We’re not your typical wine company. We sell upscale, European-inspired table wines that contain zero sugar and no additives. Our wines are sustainably packed in 3L boxes, which greatly reduces packaging costs and allows for us to deliver considerably higher quality wine for the price. We launched in 2020 selling exclusively online and after much success entered the retail market in Connecticut last year. We now have over 260 stores in CT alone and are expanding to Maryland, Delaware, and Washington DC starting June 1st.

We’re seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and personable sales manager who can bring their skillset and connections to support our distributor’s team by building and maintaining relationships with key on and off-premise accounts, distributor reps, and our brand ambassadors to help drive a highly successful launch and ongoing sales program across the region.

Responsibilities:

- Identify, pitch and acquire new points of distribution in liquor stores.
- Build relationships with top accounts in off premise
- Maintain regular appointments, follow up, and activations with top accounts.
- Maintain a Customer Relationship Management platform, VIP Karma, to log progress against KPIs.
- Build relationships with distributor sales reps to keep our brand top of mind.
- Support distributor incentives and programs that have been implemented by the sales management team.
- Plan and execute solo market blitzes as well as formal distributor work-withs (this role is ~90% on the road in market).
- Plan, schedule and manage tastings and promotions in off-premise channels.
- Coordinate with brand ambassadors, liquor stores and distributor reps to execute off-premise and tasting opportunities.
- Identify community sampling event opportunities in assigned territories and work directly with the marketing team to identify execution needs for these events.
- Relay in-market activity of competitive brands that would affect company interests.
- Maintain, track, and keep within expense account allowance in accordance with monthly budgets and programs.
- This position is responsible for working with distributor sales reps in targeted regions.
- This role does require the candidate to be out in the field on a daily/weekly basis to engage with accounts and drive sales and brand awareness.

Requirements:

- Preferably at least 3 years of sales experience in the alc bev industry.
- Active driver’s license.
- Vehicle in good working condition.
- Willing to work industry hours when needed (nights and weekends).
- Ability to use CRM and data management software tools.
- Previous experience working with distributor teams.
- Excellent communication skills. - can’t stress this one enough!
- An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Willing to be very “hands-on” to get the job done.
