Russian River Pinot Noir Producer

Job Description:

SUMMARY: Medium sized Russian River based Pinot Noir house looking for an enologist. We are dedicated to crafting the greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Enologist position is responsible for running all analysis, winemaking record keeping, setting up trials and tastings and assisting in cellar. This position will take part in all aspects of winemaking but the majority of the Job is performing laboratory and quality assurance tasks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Sample and run all winery laboratory test.
•  Work with winemaking team on Quality Assurance
•  Process grape maturity samples.
•  Perform manual and automated analysis of all juice and wines.
•  Maintain the lab and all lab equipment.
•  Maintain Bulk wine inventory and movement records.
•  Pull samples from tanks, barrels, or vineyards and complete analysis requested by Winemaker.
•  Detailed record keeping of all analysis including experimental lots.
•  Set up winemaking tasting.
•  Order and maintain inventory of winemaking and bottling supplies.

•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
•  Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
•  Versatility and Willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
•  Attention to detail.
•  Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
•  Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
•  Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•  Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
•  Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and wine laboratory analysis.
•  Experience with winemaking wet chemistry.
•  Ability to understand all safety requirements and cautions.
•  Knowledge of wines and wine production.
•  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
•  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
•  Experience with Vin trace is a plus.
•  Experience with a y15 is a plus.



PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
•  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
o Walk, kneel, bend, and stand.
o Stand for extended periods of time.
o Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
o Climb stairs.
